ECO4 Eligibility Criteria

Owner: To be eligible for ECO4, you must either own the house or be a private tenant (with permission from the landlord).

Yes: ✅(You own your own home)

No: but if you’re a renter, you might still be able to get it installed as long as your landlord agrees.

Benefits Based on Means: You or someone in your family must get at least one of the following benefits based on your income:

  1. Universal Credit

  2. Tax Credit for Workers Tax Credit for Kids

  3. Income Support

  4. Jobseeker’s Allowance based on income

  5. Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) based on income

  6. Housing Benefit

  7. Pension Credit (also called the Guarantee or Savings Credit)

  8. Child Benefit, which has certain pay limits based on how many adults and kids live in the home.

You could get ECO4 or GBIS (Great British Insulation Scheme) if you or someone in your home gets one of these benefits.

The GBIS is mostly about giving insulation measures (like loft or cavity wall insulation) to make buildings use less energy.

The factors for eligibility for GBIS are similar to those for ECO4, focusing on:

Homeowners or private renters who have been given permission.
